President : Dr. Nagabhushana Malakkla

Dr. Nagabhushana Malakkla was born in Bangalore, India, and is a native of Shivaganga, Davangere Dist. India.

After graduating from Govt. Medical College Mysore in 1972, he worked as a lecturer in Preventive Medicine, Govt. Medical College, and Bellary. Later he worked in Iran and in the U.K. for 8 years before coming to America.

He worked as an Assistant Clinical Professor in internal Medicine for UCSF Fresno and the VA Hospital, in Fresno, California until April 2007. Now he is working as the Chief Physician for CDCR, California.

He is actively involved in cultural activities. He was President of the India Association in Alexandria, Louisiana. He started Basava Balaga in Fresno which became VSNA Central Chapter of California. He is also the founder member of Kannada Balaga in Fresno, CA.

He was vigorously involved in fund raising and construction of Hindu Temple of Fresno which was completed in July 2007. He served as the Co-Chairman at the VSNA Convention 2008 held at San Ramon, California.

His wife Sudha works in Bank of America. His two older daughters are studying at Medical Colleges in India. His third daughter is studying at UC Berkeley. His son is in High School.

Responsibilities: Dr.Nagabhushana as a President is responsible for the organization and its activities.

Secretary : Mr.Shiva Maganahalli

Mr.Shiva Maganahalli comes from Davangere in Karnataka and has served in many for-profit and non-profit organizations here in US and India. He has worked at well known companies like AT&T, i2 Technologies and eBay.

He lives in California with his wife and two children. He has won many awards in Schools/Universities and at work.

Mr.Maganahalli graduated from Mysore University with honors in Engineering and got his MS degree in Computer Engineering from University of Texas. He also served as treasurer of Eta-Kappa-Nu honor society and vice-president of Indian Students Association (ISA). In one day he initiated and build a team to raise funds for 1993 Latur, India earth quake victims. The drive got noticed by univesity (Texas) and dean.

He played a critical role in hosting a successful annual convention in California (2008) through helping bring together teams, leading registration and fund raising along with his wife Rupa Maganahalli who lead Reception & Hospitality committee. His family has been a active member of VSNA for more than a decade.

Shiva started Samparka (contact/communication) project for VSNA in 2009 to start and better member/convention interaction with its members.

Responsibilities: Secretary is the lead communicator for the organization including internal and external communication including the resonsibility of the website and blogs. He also coordinates meetings, motions, minutes, etc.

Treasurer: Mrs.Latha Mallikarjuna

Mrs.Latha Mallikarjuna was born in Yajaman family and grew up in Gandhinagar, Bangalore. She is married to Arjun S. Bangalore and they have one daughter Krutika Mallikarjuna.

Latha has proudly served the VSNA, Pittsburgh Chapter as the President this past year and looking forward to serve the Central VSNA as the Treasurer.

She currently resides in Monroeville, PA, working as Financial Analyst at Shaw Environmental & Infrastructure, Inc. Arjun is a Senior

Algorithm Scientist at ChemImage Corporation, Pittsburgh. Krutika is a junior at New York University (NYU) and will be a graduate of Class of 2010, majoring in Communications and minoring in Film & Television Production.

Responsibilities: Mrs.Latha's duties as Treasurer of the VSNA organization will include, but not limited to maintaining the receipts, disbursements & expenditures precisely, financial reporting, depositing the membership dues, donations and other valuable assets in Central VSNA established accounts promptly followed by the approval of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee.
